From a Family Farm to a Family of Dealerships
Small-town values, seven businesses, one family serving Sarnia-Lambton
Our story started on a family farm outside Oil Springs, where growing up in a family of eight meant learning the value of hard work, helping each other, and doing things right. Those lessons stayed with us long after we traded tractors for cars.
When we got into the automotive business, we weren't chasing growth for the sake of it. We simply wanted to build a business where people felt comfortable walking through the door, where customers could trust the advice they were given, and where every vehicle was treated with the same care we'd expect for our own family.
Over the years, we've been fortunate to grow into Progressive Auto Group, with Progressive Auto Sales, BMW Sarnia, Sarnia Volkswagen, Progressive Ford, Sarnia Ford, Sarnia Lincoln, and J&J Collision all becoming part of the journey. But even as we've grown, we've worked hard to keep the same small-town values that got us started.
To us, being progressive has never meant becoming bigger. It means getting a little better every day. Finding new ways to serve our customers, support our team, and give back to the community that's supported us from the beginning.
Sarnia Lambton is home for us. We see our customers at the rink, the grocery store, and around town. Many have been with us for years, and some generations of families have trusted us with every vehicle they've owned. That's something we never take for granted.
We're proud of what we've built together, and we're grateful for everyone who's been part of the journey. We look forward to earning that trust for many years to come.

2000
Progressive Auto Sales was founded in 2000 with just over 10 vehicles and a vision to bring honesty and transparency to used car buying. What started small quickly became a trusted automotive name in Sarnia.

2010
In 2010, Progressive Ford was added to the group, expanding our reach into new and pre-owned Ford cars, trucks, and SUVs. This strengthened our presence and positioned us as a growing multi-brand automotive provider.

2019
In 2019, Progressive Auto Group expanded again with the acquisition of BMW Sarnia and Sarnia Volkswagen. This major milestone brought luxury and European engineering into our lineup, completing a full-spectrum automotive portfolio.

2020
In 2020, Progressive Auto Group introduced a dedicated wholesale department, facilitating dealer-to-dealer used car sales through Manheim Flint. This strengthened our network across Ontario, Canada, and the U.S., boosting our presence in the wholesale market.

2025
In 2025, J&J Body Shop joined Progressive Auto Group, enabling us to offer professional collision repair and complete automotive care. This addition transformed the group into a true end-to-end automotive service provider.

2026
In 2026, Progressive Auto Group acquired Ford Finch Lincoln Sarnia, relaunching the dealership as Sarnia Ford and Sarnia Lincoln. This expanded our Ford and Lincoln presence in the community while continuing our commitment to honest, customer-first service.
